The problem
You did everything right, and then France moved the bar
You built a life here. You pay your taxes, you know your baker by name, you can argue with the plumber on the phone. For years, B1 was enough to apply for citizenship.
Since 1 January 2026, naturalisation requires B2 French, in speaking and in writing. The 10-year carte de résident moved from A2 to B1. The test itself changed too: the TCF IRN now assesses up to B2, with longer listening and reading sections. And a separate civic exam now sits on top of the language requirement.
So the plan you had is gone. Maybe your B1 certificate is now worthless for the dossier. Maybe you sat the new test and missed B2 by a few points in one section. Maybe you have not dared to book it at all.
Meanwhile the questions keep coming. "So, when are you getting your passport?" Your partner is French. Your kids are French. You are the only one in the family still on a residence card.
What it costs
Every failed attempt pushes your passport back by months
A missed test is not just a fee. It is weeks waiting for the next session, then weeks waiting for results, while your dossier sits unfinished in a folder.
Most people who stall at B1 do not need more French, they need different French. And every month you study the wrong way is a month added to the wait for your vote, your EU freedom of movement, and the simple peace of not renewing a card again.
Why it hasn't worked
Apps, group classes and chatty tutors were built for B1, not for B2
You have probably tried some of these. Each one helped, and each one stopped helping at the same point.
Apps teach vocabulary and grammar in isolation. B2 is scored on your ability to build an argument, and no app makes you argue.
Group classes at the mairie or the Alliance Française give you ten minutes of speaking in a two-hour session. That is not enough repetition to change how you speak under pressure.
Conversation tutors are pleasant, but they let you stay in your comfort zone. You chat about your weekend, they nod, nobody corrects the structures the examiner will penalise.
Self-study with books gives you rules, but no one tells you whether your written essay would score 12 or 16.
B1 is about getting your meaning across; B2 is about defending a point of view with nuance, structure and the right register. That gap is specific, it is learnable, and it is exactly what an exam rewards.
The program

The B2 argument toolkit: connectors, concession, hypothesis, the subjunctive where it counts.

Two written tasks a week, corrected line by line.
Weeks 9–12: Perform
Five more timed mocks, scored against the grid.
Listening and reading speed work for the longer sections.

Your coach
A French teacher who has been the struggling learner six times over
I am Bernard Duchene, founder of GOYUO. I am a native French speaker and a professional language teacher based in Toulon, and I speak six foreign languages fluently.
I know the B2 wall from the inside, because I had to climb it in every language I learned. That is why the Sprint is not a conversation club. It is the exact system I use to get past the plateau: measured practice, honest correction, and a deadline.
I take 8 clients per cohort, never more, because every voice note and every essay is corrected by me personally.
Who it's for
✅ The Sprint is for you if
You live in France and need B2 for naturalisation, or B1 for the carte de résident.
You are around A2+ to B1 today, or you missed B2 on a recent test.
You want to file within the next 12 months.
You can commit at least 5 hours a week for 12 weeks.
❌ The Sprint is not for you if
You are a complete beginner.
You want French "someday", with no application in sight.
You are looking for a relaxed weekly chat.
You expect results without doing the daily practice.
How to join
Apply, talk to me, then decide
Apply in 4 minutes. I read every application myself.
Book your B2 Gap Call: 30 minutes where I place you on the scale and tell you honestly whether 12 weeks is realistic.
Secure your seat if we both agree. Cohorts are capped at 8.
The investment is €2,970, or three payments of €1,050. That is less than one year of renewing cards, booking tests and paying for classes that did not get you there.

Questions
Your questions, answered honestly
Can I really go from B1 to B2 in 12 weeks?
From a solid B1, yes, when the practice is daily and aimed at the exam. From A2, it usually takes longer, and I will tell you so on the call. I would rather turn you down than sell you a timeline you cannot hit.
I work full-time. Will I keep up?
Most clients do. Sessions are scheduled around your week, and the daily voice notes take 10 to 15 minutes. The program needs 5 hours a week in total, not a second job.
Which test should I take: TCF IRN, TEF IRN or DELF B2?
It depends on your deadline and on how you perform under each format. The TCF IRN result is valid for two years; the DELF B2 is a diploma with no expiry. We decide together in week 1, based on your mock results and the session dates near you.
I failed the test once already. Is that a problem?
It is an advantage. Your score report tells us exactly which section to attack first, so we waste no time on skills you already have.
Why not just hire a cheaper tutor?
You can, and for general conversation it works. The Sprint is different: six scored mocks, 24 corrected essays, daily feedback and a coach who answers for your result. You are paying for a deadline met, not for hours spent.
Is the civic exam included?
Yes, as a bonus: a question bank and two practice sessions. The language result is the hard part; we make sure the civic exam does not become a last-minute surprise.
What if I am not accepted?
I will point you to the right next step, usually the B2 Exam Blueprint, a self-study version of the method, so you can build your base and reapply.
